Shauna Weinstein, PhD, joined CASES in August 2020 as the Senior Director of Clinical and Community Alternatives. Dr. Weinstein is a clinical psychologist with experience providing psychotherapy, psychological testing, and clinical and administrative supervision in a variety of settings, including inpatient, outpatient, psychiatric emergency room, school-based, and correctional. Prior to CASES, Dr. Weinstein was the Associate Director of Mental Health for the Adolescent/Young Adult Assessment Service for Correctional Health Services at Rikers Island. In this role, she developed and managed the intake screening program to assess and support adolescents and young adults entering the jail system. She also conducted individual psychotherapy and psychological testing batteries. Earlier in her professional career, Dr. Weinstein worked at NYC Health+Hospitals/Elmhurst Hospital Center, New York City Children’s Center – Bronx Campus, and Beth Israel Hospital. Dr. Weinstein is also a statistical consultant and performs psychological assessments through her private practice. Dr. Weinstein holds bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Spanish from Bucknell University, and a PhD in Clinical Psychology from Long Island University-Brooklyn Campus. She completed her predoctoral psychology internship at NYC Health+Hospitals/Elmhurst Hospital Center.
