CASES Welcomes Preeti Krishnan and Katie Lyon to our Board of Trustees

Chief Executive Officer Jonathan McLean and Chair Lee Wood are pleased to announce two new members nominated to the CASES Board of Trustees, Preeti Krishnan and Katie Lyon.  

Jonathan said of their nominations: “I am ecstatic to welcome Katie and Preeti to the CASES Board of Trustees. Both add tremendous value to our organization and the critical work that we do.” 

Preeti Krishnan is a fintech founder and executive focused on creating beautiful products for those who typically don’t have access to high-quality technology. She is currently the founder and CEO of an as-of-yet unannounced venture. Most recently, Preeti was the SVP of Strategy & Operations at Kafene, a Series B fintech company that helps retailers grow their businesses by offering flexible consumer point-of-sale solutions. She is an expert in optimizing the operations of high growth fintech companies to maximize performance. Prior to joining Kafene, Preeti spent over 4 years at DailyPay, a fintech company that pioneered on-demand pay. Over the course of her time at the company, she established, led, and scaled the Strategy & Business Operations function, served as the Chairperson of the company’s Operating Committee, helping the company achieve unicorn status. Preeti began her career as a corporate attorney, spending several years at Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP. Preeti holds an A.B. from Georgetown University and earned her J.D. at the University of Pennsylvania Law School.   

Katie Lyon is the Head of Client Services for Common Trust, a firm that helps small and mid-sized businesses transition to employee ownership. Katie has over 15 years of experience in economic and community development. Prior to joining Common Trust, she originated a team tasked with building industry partnerships to support curriculum development and hiring outcomes for students at all 25 student campuses in the City of New York system. Previously in her career, Katie served as an economic development and real estate consultant with BJH Advisors and the Deputy Director of Real Estate and Planning at the Downtown Brooklyn Partnership. Katie earned a Master’s in Urban Planning from the Robert F. Wagner School of Public Service at New York University and is an alumna of the Coro Leadership New York program. Passionate about criminal legal system reform, Katie joined the inaugural Associate Board at CASES and is honored to continue to serve the organization as a member of the Board of Trustees.
