CASES has deep roots in Brooklyn. Its programs have served young people in the borough since 1967, and its administrative headquarters have been in Downtown Brooklyn since 2014.
“We’re extremely honored to be recognized by the Brooklyn Community Foundation as a Spark Prize finalist,” CASES CEO Joel Copperman said. “We share the Foundation’s commitment to addressing racial, economic, and health disparities in Brooklyn, including by reforming New York City’s criminal justice system.”
Finalists were chosen from a competitive pool of 130 applicants based on four Foundation criteria: 1) Born in Brooklyn, 2) Commitment to Equity, 3) Values Driven, and 4) Vision for the Future. Winners will be announced in January 2019.
Watch for more announcements from CASES leading up to Giving Tuesday on November 27. Donations made on that day will help CASES to secure our full $5,000 matching gift from the Brooklyn Community Foundation as part of our being named a Spark Prize finalist.
