Joel Copperman Named Board Chair of Human Services Council

On July 1, 2010, Joel Copperman succeeded Nancy Wackstein as the Chair of the Human Services Council‘s Board of Directors.

The Human Services Council (HSC) represents thousands of not-for-profit organizations in New York City, advocating for the needs of the human services sector. Since 1991, HSC has helped bring together a diverse network of human services organizations to discuss ideas and take collective action on issues that impact the entire sector. Through advocacy, information, collaboration, and technical assistance, HSC supports member organizations and their leaders in addressing concerns regarding public policy, economic trends, and the regulatory environment.

CASES is honored that its CEO/President will assume a leadership role in the organization. Mr. Copperman states that, “these are challenging times for the non profit organizations that provide essential human services to the members of our community who are in need. HSC plays an important role in advocating for resources and improving the delivery of services. I am pleased that I will be able to contribute to this effort.”
