CASES is pleased to announce several awards recognizing the hard work and recent achievements of our staff.

· Ana Bermudez, the director of Community Prep High School was recently recognized by Marty Markowitz, Brooklyn Borough President, for her distinguished record of service to the people of Brooklyn and the City of New York as an advocate for children, her dedication to the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community, and her commitment to unity and equal rights for all.

Two staff members of the Court Employment Project (CEP) have also recently received awards recognizing their skills, talents and commitment to working with young people:

· Sana Musasama, CEP's artist-in-residence since 1995, was one of only ten women artists nationwide to win an "Anonymous Was A Woman" Award. This award, given to women artists who show great creative promise, recognizes Sana's innovative and inspiring approach to her art.

· Victor Jaroslaw, a full-time teacher in CEP's Education Unit since 1996, was one of only five after-school teachers in New York City to receive a Partnership for After School Education PASEsetter Award recognizing outstanding service and leadership to today's youth.
