In April 2011, CASES created the Adult Behavioral Health program group through a merger of our Mental Health and Criminal Court programs. By bringing these programs together under one unit, we intend to apply clinical strategies to engage clients in services and deter them from future criminal justice involvement. This will allow us to improve our programmatic response to substance abuse and mental illness, as well as other critical service needs shared by the clients in these programs.

CASES' adult behavioral health programs aim to end the cycle of arrest, confinement, release, and re-arrest by providing access to adequate community treatment and support. The alternative sentences that we offer are more effective than traditional jail and prison stays because they link people with services such as education, mental health and substance abuse treatment, housing, and employment training, which are essential to their long-term success.
