Parole Community Supervision

  Youth Programs

Parole Community Supervision is a component of the Parole Restoration Project (PRP). PRP is a voluntary program serving detained technical parole violators with special needs, including individuals with mental illness, substance abuse problems, women with dependent children, and young people.

The mission of Parole Community Supervision is to safely and expeditiously restore technical parole violators with mental illness to community-based supervision. The program provides participants with psychological counseling, supervision, and case management to coordinate services including psychiatric and substance abuse treatment, benefits, and housing. PRP case managers report regularly on participant progress to the Division of Parole and provide immediate notification in cases of non-compliance.

Parole Community Supervision was launched in April 2001 with funding from the NYS Department of Criminal Justice Services under the Edward Byrne Memorial Formula Grant Program and the NYC Department of Correction.
