CASES has recently expanded its work in New York City's Criminal Courts. We operate the Exit Program, serving non-violent misdemeanor offenders with mental illness in Manhattan Criminal Court, the Community Service Program providing oversight to community service sentences in Staten Island, and the New York City Transit (NYCT) Community Service Program, offering in-court screening and assessment to offenders who commit quality-of-life crimes. These three programs build upon the work of CASES' Day Custody Program (DCP), our Treatment Readiness Program (TRP), and our long history of serving New York City's Criminal Courts by giving judges meaningful sentencing options for low-level offenders.
